Welcome to the Poetry Society of Georgia

Founded in 1923, in Savannah, GA, the nonprofit Poetry Society of Georgia is proud to serve both members, and non-members of the Georgia Coastal Region and beyond.

PSGA connects, promotes and leads the state's writing community from beginners to published professionals, sponsoring such programs as our annual PSGA Reading Series, competitions, small classes or events, website with weblinks, phone referrals, an online literary calendar and partnership with other writing programs. All these services are open to the public.

For members only. PSGA also provides a yearly annual with free classifieds, book promotion opportunities, a critiquing and editing service, members-only pages on the website, a books in print catalog of member publications, email updates and scholarships to events. As well, members are given discounts on virtually all programs.

PSGA's 300 members come primarily from Georgia, but also other states and a few foreign countries. Their numbers support our state's rich literary legacy.

PSGA believes that poetry is necessary for individual self-expression, that the ability to write poetry is inherent in each one of us, and that exercising our right to write is a deeply satisfying experience.

Society dues are $35 a year ($15 for students).
